Tampa BayWatch

On October 6, 2000 approximately 305 Young Middle School students, along with their teachers, Tampa BayWatch staff and volunteers participated in the planting of their new salt marsh nursery on the school's campus.

Once grown to maturity, these plants will be harvested and utilized for a coastal restoration project in Tampa Bay. Young's students act as environmental mentors to 4th grade students at Lockhart Elementary Schools, also participating in the Tampa BayWatch program. Captain Planet was on hand to support the students efforts for habitat restoration.
